Lunch Club

Please note that as from January 2009, membership for the U3A Lunch Club is closed. Finding venues willing to take over 40 people for a Lunch sitting is becoming increasingly difficult. Membership is now restricted to those who are already on the register and regularly attending. Lunches take place on the 4th Thursday of each month. The Lunch Club is about eating and socialising. A different venue is selected each month.

When the Lunch Club first started in November 2005, everyone was asked to nominate a venue of their choice within an approximate 15 mile radius of Stone. These are put into a "hat" and drawn out to decide where we were going next. The venue choice which is drawn out is discarded, so everyone gets a fair chance of theirs being chosen. It is possible that some venues are chosen by a number of people, but they stay in until chosen each time.

The Lunch Club continues to meet on the 4th Thursday of each month, with a healthy 20-25 members attending on each occasion.

For all venues, please can members let Angela know of their wish to attend by the beginning of each month, in order to choose menu's where necessary. More & more Restaurants require advance menu choices and sometimes deposits. Arrival time for all venues is 12.15pm.
